Dilworth Addition

Services: Interior Design

This project marks our third project with this client, and for our latest chapter, we turned our attention to the heart of the house: a kitchen and living room addition that finally gave this historic home the space it always deserved.
The existing kitchen was a classic, compact galley that felt increasingly disconnected from the way the family lived. A new kitchen and living room addition created the space the family needed, while the original kitchen was transformed into a tucked-away office and wet bar. The goal throughout was to preserve everything that made the house feel historic while giving it the function and flexibility of a modern family home.

The result is an open, connected layout designed for real life and entertaining. The spaces flow naturally from one to the next, with plenty of room to gather and none of the pinch points that came with the home’s original footprint.

You won’t spot the wet bar when you first walk in, which is exactly the point. Navy cabinetry and trim, paired with brass mesh cabinet inserts, create a quiet moment of drama tucked behind the everyday spaces.
