Who doesn't love a nightcap at your favorite moody cocktail bar?

What if we told you that your home could become your new favorite spirit spot instead?

The holidays are here, and the drinks are flowing. With that, more homeowners in Charlotte are embracing entertaining at home.

When it comes to making entertaining stress-free, it all comes back to how your space is designed. A dedicated home bar, thoughtfully integrated into your living space, makes hosting feel effortless. Let’s talk about how to create that experience.

Integrated Home Bar Experience

More of our clients are choosing intentional home bars, integrated directly into the kitchen, living room, or entertaining areas, to create a seamless experience for home guests.

Let's fast forward a few weeks to your holiday gatherings. Your guests arrive, you welcome them in, and likely one of your first few questions is going to be if they would like something to drink. Then, you have to find the counter space in your kitchen, pull out all your cocktail supplies, or find the wine opener you consistently misplace, pour a drink, and waste all that time distracted and away from your guests. It's awkward. It's not the hosting experience you want to give your guests, is it?

A well-designed home bar becomes an extension of your hosting experience. It allows you to offer guests a drink without breaking the flow of conversation or stepping away. Instead, it becomes part of the conversation. It's a space that feels just as inviting to your guests as their favorite boutique hotel bar. It's a space to make you feel excited about hosting again.

Not only when you’re hosting, but after a long day of work, travel, or a date night, this is a space meant for unwinding, not something hidden away or treated like extra storage.

So, please pull up a barstool because we are walking you through what turns a home bar into a sophisticated cocktail lounge right in the comfort of your own home.

Why Invest in a Luxury Home Bar

Why bring the bar space to your home? Here are a few key differences it could make:

Entertaining is always in, especially in the Queen City

Have you ever thought twice about inviting someone over because your space isn't accommodating enough? The last thing your home should do is limit you. Your house works for you, and it should actually work for you. There will always be times when you will want to entertain guests and host your friends and family, even long after the holidays are over. So, why not always be ready for it with a home built for entertaining?

Adds Functionality

Luxury home bars are not just beautiful; they are functional. Your glassware, bar tools, spirits, mixers, and even that wine opener you can never find will all have a place. They keep your entertaining essentials organized, accessible, and styled. Those stunning bar tools you were gifted? There's a place for them. That heirloom glassware from your grandmother? Let's showcase it. Everything will have a place, and you'll have less stress over something that is supposed to be de-stressing you.

Increases Your Property Value

If it comes time to put your home on the market, this could be that "wow-factor" that makes your house stand out against every other home on Zillow. It gives that luxury feel that your buyers crave and realtors rave about. People are going to notice how intentional and functional this space is, picturing themselves with a glass of cab in hand, enjoying their new home that you once enjoyed so much, too.

Elevate Daily Living

Even though we love home bars for hosting, they aren't just for hosting. Romanticizing your daily routine has been a topic everyone is talking about in recent years. Do you know where we think this concept originated? Home bars. It adds a touch of luxury to your daily routines — everything from your morning cup of coffee to your evening nightcap.

Ingredients Tailored Designs for Building Your Home Bar Custom To You

You don't just need a place to pour a drink. You need a space that pairs well with your lifestyle. Every step of our process ensures that we grasp your style, the way you use your spaces, and even how you entertain, to create a space that serves you best.

Anyone can design and construct a home bar, but what are the intentional details that transform it into a luxury home statement piece?

During our onboarding process, we go through how you use your spaces. You might think a home bar seems as cut and dry as a gin and tonic; however, there are plenty of ways that we tailor it to you.

Custom wine-focused home bar with kitchen-integrated island in a Carolina home

Your Signature Cocktail Gets a Signature Space

Cocktail lovers vs. wine collectors vs. coffee addicts...whatever your drink of choice is, it deserves a space of its own. A space for crafting cocktails can look vastly different from a space where you swirl a favorite vintage or grind your go-to roast of coffee beans. And, if you're a fan of all three options like us, don't worry, we can piece them together.

In this Weddington–Waxhaw home, our clients enjoy a crisp glass of sauvignon blanc and good conversation. We designed a bar space centered on wine storage that seamlessly integrates with their kitchen, complete with an island perfect for gathering and chatting.

Cabinetry Worth Cheers-ing To

Custom Carolina home bar cabinetry with glassware display

If you are a self-certified mixologist, you deserve a space where you can hide or showcase your collection of spirits. Or, if you are a glassware connoisseur, you need a place to highlight them all. This is exactly what we can do to make the space truly yours. Cabinets are the foundation of your bar. They set the tone for the entire space, whether you love a moody, wood-grain, a sleek, modern feel, or a fun pop of color. ATailored Designs, we are a direct dealer for Mouser Cabinetry, and we utilize local custom cabinetry shops to help bring our designs to life.

With this project, our clients’ stunning glassware became a focal point, highlighted by custom cabinetry, integrated lighting, and a continuation of the tile along the back of the cabinet for a layered pop of color.

Smooth Pours & Smoother Design Flow

Do you want this to be a place where you can sit and have a conversation, or a spot in your kitchen that you can reach without breaking the conversation with your guests at your kitchen island? Yet another way we can make it personal to how you'll use the space the most. That can include where it's placed in your home, if there are seating areas, or even which appliances it should include or be nearby to.

Think undercounter wine refrigerators to ice makers, we select appliances that support your hosting style without disrupting the design flow. When we say home bar, we don't just mean a free countertop space; we mean a place that takes away the frustration of making a cocktail without having to walk across the entire kitchen (and likely spilling an ingredient or two along the way).

In this Meyers Park home, we added a hidden storage cabinet that blends seamlessly into the design, while still providing ample storage to really maximize the space.

Stir in Some Personality

A tasteful countertop, a statement backsplash, a fun piece of artwork, everyone has their own unique style and preferences, and our job is to help you draw that out in your space.

Luxury home bar featuring custom design details and colorful accents

A bar is a space in your home where you can have fun, express your personality, and embrace luxury. Since bars are typically smaller than kitchens, they’re the perfect place to incorporate more luxurious materials in smaller quantities — and to introduce color into your home without the commitment of a full kitchen. Our team works with you to create a space that feels yours authentically, while maintaining a luxe feel through design principles.

Take a look inside this home, where we incorporated green cabinetry, a statement backsplash, and pops of personality to create a space that draws you in.
