As we are in the thick of our 2026 projects, we can't help but think back on all the projects we completed last year.

2025 was a year of completely reimagined spaces. It wasn’t just a new cabinet color or a backsplash tile swap. We curated full-scale integrated spaces. Homes that feel entirely different the moment you walk in.

Across the Carolinas, we transformed kitchens into gathering spaces that people actually spend time in, versus stress over, and bathrooms that make every day routines feel like a spa-like retreat.

While we have favorite pieces of every project we crafted this past year, these five spaces are some of our favorite design transformations.

Five of Our Favorite Carolina Kitchen & Bath Transformations

1. A 1989 Kitchen That Found Its Modern Feel

Some homes just need someone to see what they could be. The Fairview project was a whole home renovation, but the kitchen has a space that we just can't stop thinking about.

This late-80s kitchen had structure, but it lacked personalization. The previous layout didn’t reflect how the homeowners actually lived day to day. If your spaces aren't working for you, they are working against you.

So, we reimagined this kitchen floor plan and introduced warmth through texture, while giving this home a more modern, updated feel. Thoughtful details, layered lighting, and metal statement hood with brass strapping that elevate the entire room.

A space that once felt dated now feels intentional and full of character, which aligned with the homeowner's needs.

2. An Office That Makes Even Working From Home Feel Like Luxury

When we first walked into this space, it wasn’t functioning as an office at all. It had slowly become a catchall space. So, the goal wasn’t just to “create an office.” It was to design a space that felt intentional, elevated, and worthy of the hours spent inside it.

We leaned into depth and drama with rich, dark built-ins that wrap the room and frame the window to give it a classic at-home library feel. The custom cabinetry also introduced much-needed closed storage, allowing all the office supplies and lingering “catchall” items to finally have a place.

And then there’s the ceiling. Instead of leaving it as an afterthought, we treated it as a fifth wall. We layered in geometric wallpaper that draws the eye upward, adds interest, and subtly introduces character to the room.

Every element of this Fairview space works together to create an office that is not only functional for daily use but one that makes work feel less chaotic and far more enjoyable.

3. The Uptown Bathroom That Became a Moody Spa Retreat

The goal wasn’t to brighten everything and start over with this primary bathroom. It was to lean into depth, warmth, and contrast to create a space that felt sophisticated and refined.

We layered warm wood against matte black finishes to create a moody, dramatic feel. The floating vanity brought a modern edge, while the darker tile added just the richness we were looking for. To balance the dark elements, we created an expansive shower, focused around the natural light and complemented by the glass shower walls that let that light into the entirety of the space.

We treated the ceiling as a design element, adding texture overhead so the room feels complete from every single angle as well.

Each of these design choices came together to create the elevated modern space that the homeowner fell in love with. This home will be featured in SouthPark Magazine, so stay tuned for the full gallery!

4. The Kitchen Designed for the Next Chapter

When your kids are grown and life shifts, your home should shift with you. In this case, this Carolina home needed to be built around this new chapter of life, being empty nesters, and that means more space for hosting and gathering.

We opened the kitchen to the living area, adding in structural beams to support the new open layout. This created the major shift this homeowner needed and provided room to add an island, coffee station, and built-in wine bar and fridge to make hosting effortless. A scullery was added as well, which hides prep and cleanup, allowing the main kitchen to remain beautiful and guest-ready.

Warm wood tones paired with creamy custom cabinetry create a balance of comfort that welcomes guests in. We integrated appliances for a seamless look and statement lighting over the island to pull it all together as well.

This kitchen was designed for hosting holidays, wine nights, and quiet Sunday mornings sipping coffee.

5. A Primary Bath That Feels Like a Boutique Hotel

There’s something powerful about starting and ending your day in a space that feels calm, refreshing, and built around your routine.

In this primary bath, we reworked the layout to improve the overall flow and eliminate awkward, underutilized space, and replaced it with a design that feels intentional and thoughtfully planned.

Soft light, elevated fixtures, warm wood tones, and a shower that feels expansive instead of cramped. All the things that turn this client's home into a hotel-like retreat vs. a builder-grade primary bathroom.

Now, instead of rushing through the morning routine, our clients linger and enjoy it as their space allows.

Kitchens and bathrooms are the most personal spaces in a home. They’re also the most technical, requiring careful planning and thoughtful procurement.
